C. Graupner: A Multimedia Creative at the Intersection of Sound, Vision, and Societal Discourse

Navigating the realms of sound and video, C. Graupner is a multimedia creative who engages in process-oriented experimentation with pen and pigment on paper. His artistic practice extends to the creation of intricate HUMATIC media installations and large-scale pictorial series, often in collaboration with performance and software creatives, as well as experts in various fields. Graupner's work, sometimes intentionally unsettling, aims to open up the cognitive space for exploring body-oriented, socially relevant themes.

Graupner's artistic journey began under the tutelage of Jürgen Brodwolf, where he honed his drawing skills. Simultaneously, he embarked on an autodidactic pursuit of music and media knowledge. His creative endeavors have led him to guest artist and teaching positions at prestigious institutions such as the ZKM, IRCAM, and HGKZ Zürich. Under the pseudonym VOOV, Graupner collaborated with members of the seminal experimental music groups Einstürzende Neubauten and Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft (DAF), as well as the renowned Japanese composer Mieko Suzuki. In 2019, he established the HUMATIC AV label to provide access to his extensive archives.
